The Write Your Own Story Co’s Mission is:
to encourage women to live the life they dream about.
We want women to silence society’s expectations and their own self-doubt—questions like “Why me?” and “Am I enough?”—so they can take control and write their own life stories.
Write Your Own Story Co values service, sisterhood, connection, and laughter. If any of those resonate with you, welcome friend.
I’m so glad you're here!
Betsy Leonidas is a 20-year marketing strategist, brand builder, entrepreneur, storyteller, and single mom of four. She is the founder of Write Your Own Story Co. and host of the Write Your Own Story Podcast, where she celebrates women’s stories and empowers them to break free from society’s “shoulds” to live authentically.
Through her Female Founders Academy Master Class, Betsy teaches moms how to start and run successful businesses in 20 hours a week or less—earning more than they ever imagined while spending more time with their kids.
Though her journey began with an unexpected chapter, Betsy has discovered strength, peace, and purpose in writing her own story. And the best part? It’s turning out better than she ever could have imagined.
Betsy had an incredible career spanning nearly 20 years at some of the world's top advertising agencies and corporations. She began her journey at McCann and concluded her corporate career at Deloitte, with many exciting stops along the way.
Since the birth of her twins—raising four children under the age of four—Betsy has been freelancing as a Senior Marketing Strategist. She has worked with some of the most innovative brands, businesses, and startups, bringing her expertise to help them grow and thrive.
Through years of building startups, supporting companies of all sizes, and navigating the corporate world, Betsy Leonidas has developed proven systems, models, and best practices. She helps businesses define their most important goals and objectives, identify their ideal customers, and create content that drives action and growth. Nothing brings her more joy than helping people transform their passions into successful businesses!
Betsy grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, surrounded by grit, passion, and vision from an early age. This lifelong exposure shaped her journey, allowing her to blend decades of corporate experience (though she still wonders how she got this old!) with her entrepreneurial spirit. Beyond raising her children, her two greatest accomplishments have been bringing this expertise to life through her own ventures:
Polo for Babies, a charity event that brought together nearly 500 attendees each year and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, making a meaningful impact on the lives of countless children and families.
Elizabeth In Kind, an online paper and gift shop, during COVID—and it was an instant success. With overwhelming demand (and countless trips to the post office), the business took off right from the start, proving the power of creativity, resilience, and heartfelt gifting.
She has always been passionate about storytelling. To her, stories are more than just words—they hold meaning, create connections, and often serve as guiding clues for our future selves. One of her greatest joys is sharing women's stories, something she has had the honor of doing across various platforms and publications.
Now, she is thrilled to bring this passion to the Write Your Own Story Podcast. She believes it is essential for women to hear each other’s journeys—their successes, struggles, perseverance, lessons from failure, and the passions that drive them. These stories remind us that we are not alone, encourage us to reflect on our own dreams, and inspire us to take action toward the lives we truly want.
When Betsy isn’t leading Zoom calls or building her business, she’s fully immersed in the adventure of motherhood. You’ll find her riding dirt bikes, shooting hoops, braving roller coasters, jumping off diving boards, learning the latest dance moves, testing new skincare, and, of course, driving her kids everywhere. With four of them to keep up with, she’s also making countless meals a day—and usually running late!
She considers herself the luckiest person in the world to call them hers. Every day, she strives to show up for her family and the world in a way that inspires them, knowing they’re always watching.
