I'm Betsy Leonidas: storyteller, researcher, strategist and mom of four. I host the Write Your Own Story Podcast and make workbooks for women writing their own rules.
Why this exists
You have more power over your story than you think.
Write Your Own Story Co. exists to encourage women to live the life they dream about.
That means quieting society's expectations and your own self-doubt, the "why me?" and the "am I enough?", so you can take hold of your life and write your own story.
Life is one big, beautiful, messy middle. I'm not here to fix yours. I'm here to hand you the pen.

The storyteller
I started the podcast because I was lonely. I knew women needed real, honest conversations, and I wasn't afraid to have them. Every week I sit down with an incredible woman who tells the truth about how she wrote her own rules.

Then the research lover in me started noticing patterns, the same ones, in story after story. The podcast became my long-term research study. I'm still collecting.

Nearly twenty years in marketing taught me how to turn an insight into something people can use. Add my Jay Shetty coaching certification, and you get workbooks and guided courses built to fit a busy life.
My story
Every good story has a messy middle. Mine too.
Mine showed up unplanned, with four kids along for the ride. I told everyone I was fine. (I was not fine.)
What I found on the other side of that chapter was strength, peace and purpose. And the best part? It's turning out better than I ever could have imagined.
I'm still running late, and I still can't remember why I walked into a room. But I'm writing my own story now, and I'd love to help you write yours.

A charity event I co-founded that raised money for infant and child research at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

An online paper and gift shop I built from scratch, and a lot of trips to the post office.

Off the clock
Mostly, I'm somebody's mom.
When I'm not recording, you'll find me riding dirt bikes, shooting hoops, braving roller coasters, jumping off diving boards and learning the latest dance moves. Also driving. So much driving.
With four of them to keep up with, I make countless meals a day and I'm usually running late. I consider myself the luckiest person in the world to call them mine.
They are my greatest calling in life.
